Cheapest / Longest: Public transport. We have TheBus which goes all around the island and can take you right to us! Please be advised that the bus will not allow luggage or surfboards but a backpack typically is allowed. Google Maps works well for bus stop and time information. Just type in our address as the destination and it will tell you which buses you need to take. If taking the bus expect it to take around 2.5 – 3 hours long with a few bus transfers involved.
Fastest / More Expensive: There are plenty of ride apps such as Uber and Lyft available from Honolulu and the aiport. Rides typically cost anywhere from $60-$120 depending on the day. Some folks have had luck using the ride share options to save quite a bit of money. The drive from the airport only takes around 1 hr without traffic.
If you have rented a car, directions are as follows: Take the H1 West towards Aiea/Pearl City, then take H2 North towards Mililani / Wahiawa. The H2 Highway will eventually end and become Kamehameha Hwy, just continue forward following signs to North Shore / Haleiwa. You will follow this road all the way to Backpackers. You will go past Haleiwa and continue North approximately 8 km / 5 miles. Backpackers will be just past Waimea Bay / Waimea Valley. We are the third driveway on your right past the white church tower.
